Why have salt prices increased?

Base cost of salt at the mine face has not increased very much in the last 3 years. However, 75% of the final delivered cost of a ton of salt is mine labor, diesel, ocean freight, tariffs, stevedoring and handling as well as final truck delivery. Over the past several years those costs have skyrocketed and on top of 3 strong winter seasons in the northeast the multi-year inventory stockpiles most salt companies had have been drawn to zero. The replacement salt that’s slowly refilling inventories is much higher. The result is a reset in the market prices for available salt.

How is your salt priced?

By the ton, weighed on certified scales. Every yard has a posted price, and your number depends on which yard you load at, how many tons you commit to, and whether you pick up or we deliver. Fill out the form above and a rep calls you back with a real price, usually the same day. Quotes are good for 10 days.

Can I pick up instead of getting a delivery?

Yes. Load at any of our six yards, Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 4 PM. Tomkins Cove Marine Terminal is built for volume: triaxles and trailers, 20-ton minimum. The other five yards load smaller trucks too. Many of our larger buyers run their own trucks or send their own haulers.

How do I set up an account?

Start at adensalt.com/get-started. The form takes a few minutes. Our team reviews it, then sends you a short packet to sign electronically: terms, your tax-exempt or resale certificate, and your payment method. Once you're approved, your orders go in, you will receive pickup numbers and your trucks load. Do it now. When snow is in the forecast, everyone calls at once.

Do I need an account before I pick up?

For commercial and government buyers, yes. With an account, we issue a pickup number for your order, your driver gives it at the scale, and the truck loads without the wait. Paying at the scale by cash, approved check, or credit card? You can buy at the posted price without an account but we encourage all buyers to have an account. Questions? Call, text, or WhatsApp 845-990-ROCK (7625).

What's the difference between Aden Rock Salt and OnePass?

Aden Rock Salt is straight natural de-icing rock salt, the workhorse for most roads and lots. OnePass is the same salt with a treated magnesium chloride coating. It is designed to stick where you spread it instead of bouncing off, to keep melting at lower temperatures down to about 10 below zero (straight salt stops working around 17°F), and to be easier on trucks and spreaders, with a corrosion inhibitor in the coating.

When is OnePass available?

Subject to production and committed inventory. OnePass is available to load at Tomkins Cove Marine Terminal, Bloomingburg, and Mt Marion locations.

How much can you deliver at once?

Our retail yards can deliver loads from 1-5-ton single-axle loads, 20 to 25 ton triaxle loads, and 32 to 38 ton trailer loads. For larger orders we run multiple trucks and schedule deliveries around your storage, so you take salt as fast as you can receive it.

Where do you deliver?

North Jersey, New York City, Long Island, Westchester, the Hudson Valley up toward Albany, and west across the Catskills to Binghamton and northeast Pennsylvania. Not sure you're in range? Enter your ZIP above and we'll tell you your nearest yard and a delivered price.

Why buy now instead of waiting for the first storm?

Because the salt you commit to now is the salt that's there in January. A signed supply agreement before the season locks in your price and your tonnage. Waiting means buying at storm prices and based on current supply availability.

What does your salt look like?

Our rock salt has a natural golden tone. It's stored under cover, so it loads clean and dry. OnePass is dyed blue, for visibility.
