Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Aden Mining & Materials Inc., doing business as Aden Salt Company (“Aden Salt Company,” “Aden,” “we,” “us” or “our”) collects, uses and shares information when you visit www.adensalt.com and related landing pages (the “Site”), request a price, call or text us, or otherwise communicate with us.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us. When you request a price or contact us, we collect:
- your name, business name, email address and phone number;
- your delivery address or ZIP code, and whether you want pickup or delivery;
- the product and quantity (tonnage) you are interested in, plus any notes about your site or project;
- the content of your emails, texts and calls with us, including call recordings and chat transcripts.
Information collected automatically. When you use the Site, we and our service providers collect your IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, referring website, the ad or campaign that brought you to the Site (for example UTM parameters and ad click identifiers), and approximate location. This is collected through cookies, pixels and similar technologies (see sections 6 and 7).
Payment information. We do not sell products or accept payments through the Site, so we do not collect card numbers online.
2. How we use information
- to respond to your requests, prepare quotes and confirm orders;
- to schedule pickups and deliveries, and contact you about them, including during winter storm events;
- to manage our customer relationship, records and invoicing;
- to send you seasonal availability and offers, where permitted (you can opt out at any time);
- to operate, secure and improve the Site;
- to measure and improve our advertising;
- to prevent fraud and comply with legal obligations.
3. Text messages (SMS)
If you provide your mobile number and opt in, we may send you text messages about your quote, orders, deliveries and account and, if you separately opt in, promotional messages. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for help. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of purchase. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
4. Email
We send emails about your requests and orders and, where permitted, seasonal updates. Our emails and text messages are managed through HighLevel (GoHighLevel), our customer relationship management (CRM) platform, which processes this information on our behalf. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any email, or by contacting us.
5. Calls, call recording and chat
When you reach our phone number after clicking a Google ad, the call may be routed through a Google forwarding number so we can measure which ads lead to calls. Google receives information such as your phone number, the call’s start time and its duration; it does not receive the content of the call.
Calls to and from Aden Salt Company may be recorded and monitored for quality, training and order accuracy. If you continue a call after hearing a recording notice, you consent to the recording. You may ask us not to record a call, or contact us by email instead.
If you use the chat feature on the Site, the conversation is stored in our CRM. Please do not share payment card or Social Security numbers in chat.
With your consent, we may contact you using automated technology. You can revoke this consent at any time by contacting us or replying STOP to a text.
6. Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site. Google may use this data under its own privacy policy, including for its advertising services. You can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings; some features of the Site may not work properly without them.
7. Advertising, remarketing and conversion measurement
We advertise through Google Ads, Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and LinkedIn. These platforms use cookies, pixels and similar technologies on the Site to measure ad performance, record when a price request is submitted, and show our ads to people who have visited the Site.
When you submit a price request, we may send a hashed (encrypted) version of your email address and phone number to Google and Meta to measure conversions more accurately. We also upload hashed customer lists to Google and Meta to create advertising audiences, such as showing our ads to existing customers or to people with similar interests.
You can limit personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings, Facebook Ad Preferences, LinkedIn Advertising Preferences, and the opt-out tools of the Digital Advertising Alliance and the Network Advertising Initiative.
8. How we share information
We share information only as described here:
- Service providers that work on our behalf, such as our CRM (HighLevel), website hosting and forms, analytics and advertising platforms;
- Affiliated Aden companies, such as Aden Aggregates, which help fulfill orders, dispatch trucks and operate our yards;
- Trucking and delivery partners, when needed to deliver your order;
- Legal and safety reasons, when required by law or to protect our rights, customers or others;
- Business transfers, such as a merger, sale or reorganization;
- With your consent.
We do not sell your personal information for money.
9. Data retention and security
We keep personal information for as long as needed to respond to your requests, provide our services, keep business and tax records, and meet legal requirements. After that, we delete or anonymize it. We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
10. Your choices and privacy rights
You may ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop using it for targeted advertising, including removing it from customer lists we share with advertising platforms. Depending on where you live, state law (for example, the New Jersey Data Privacy Act) may give you additional rights. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will verify your request and respond within 45 days, or tell you if we need more time. You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
11. Do Not Track
The Site does not currently respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals.
12. Children’s privacy
The Site is intended for businesses and adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
13. Third-party websites
The Site may link to websites we do not control. We are not responsible for their privacy practices; please review their policies.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the “Last updated” date above.
